As few of you know, cooking is an intense hobby that I have practiced for many years now. From time to time when a recipe is constructed from the depths of my imagination, I hope to present it to you in delicious fashion. That being said, here is the first in a long string of great recipes. I look forward to the journey it brings.

Cornish Game Hen with Garlic Orange and Whiskey Reduction
1 Cornish Game Hen
2 Oranges, juice except for one wedge
2 tbsp Herbs of Province
3 tbsp Butter, room temp
4 tbsp Honey
1/2 cup Water
1 tsp Garlic Salt
1 tsp Fresh ground Black Pepper
1 tsp Onion Powder
1 tsp Dried Cilantro
1 tsp Paprika
1 shot Crown Royal Whiskey

Preheat oven to 475 degrees. Prepare hen by rinsing inside and out with cold water. Pat dry. Insert Herbs of Province and one orange wedge into cavity. Place into glass baking dish and rub 2 tbsp butter on the top. Season with some Garlic Salt, Paprika and Black Pepper, reserving most of the remainder. Place uncovered into oven. Cook for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy on the outside. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and cover with aluminum foil. Continue cooking until internal thigh meat is 170 degrees and juices run clear. Remove to serving dish and collect all drippings.

Bring to a high boil drippings, Orange Juice, Water, Honey, Whiskey, remaining Butter, Onion Powder, Cilantro, and remaining Garlic salt, Black Pepper, and Paprika. Reduce until thickened. Spoon onto hen and serve!
